To date, in response to the August floods in Oklahoma, the American Red Cross has:

Provided safe and comfortable housing for more than 160 people at shelters in Apache, El Reno, Ft. Cobb, Kingfisher and Watonga

Provided more than 45,900 meals and snacks

Established a mobile kitchen at Ft. Cobb and continues to support a mobile kitchen in Watonga in partnership with the Southern Baptist Convention

Distributed more than 7,750 clean-up kits and other clean-up supplies, as well as nearly 650 comfort kits (personal care and hygiene items)

Placed 17 specialized community feeding vehicles into service providing twice-daily meals and clean up supplies to residents in their own neighborhoods

Established four community Service Delivery Sites, in addition to chapter-based service in Lawton, Norman and Tulsa, to assist individuals and families with immediate disaster caused needs

Served more than 900 families, assuring that their immediate disaster caused needs are met; client service includes more than 100 home visits

Worked in coordination with municipalities and the state as well as with its partner volunteer organizations to address the emergency caused needs of individuals and families affected by this disaster

Deployed nearly 500 relief workers drawn from local chapters as well as from chapters across the country; nearly 300 remain active on the relief operation
